Accreditation Status

ACPE mandates that Hampton University School of Pharmacy utilize the following language with regards to its current accreditation status:

"Hampton University School of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program  has been given the status of Accredited with Probation while under appeal by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, 190 South LaSalle Street, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60603, 312/664-3575; FAX 866/228-2631, web site www.acpe-accredit.org [acpe-accredit.org],” for compliance issues with Standard No. 17:  Progression.  For an explanation of the program’s Accredited with Probation while under appeal status, consult the Office of the Dean or ACPE."

 

Response to Accreditation Status

The School of Pharmacy is taking next steps along the appeals process. Please contact the Office of the Dean with any questions.

The School of Pharmacy has been actively working since 2017 toward making programmatic changes. The Dean had provided two Explanatory Statements (Jan 2018 and July 2017) which detail the action plan.

 

Program Outcomes

  • 76.7% of the 2018 graduating class completed the Pharm.D. program within four (4) years.
  • The NAPLEX pass rate for the Class of 2018 was 72.73%.
  • As of July 2019, 78% of the 2018 graduating class reported being employed within the profession of pharmacy, including 64% in community pharmacy practice and 2% in hospital pharmacy practice.
  • 14% of the Pharm.D. graduates were accepted into a residency program or fellowship.
